Big News

What I am about to say will probably shock a lot of you. I am not decorating my apartment for Christmas this year. I am not being a scrooge or anything, I'm just not decorating my apartment because I am moving into a brand new condo!!!!! YEA!!!! I am so excited I can hardly stand it when I think about it! I will be moving on December 27th, so I don't have much time to get packed up and ready to move. It will be crazy but totally worth it! I'm hoping that I can go take some pictures of it soon. They still have to lay the carpet in the upstairs, install the appliances, and do some touch up work on the paint. I will finally have 2 bedrooms so I can have people come stay with me!!! I need to find an extra bed though. I have a full size bed frame, but no matress or box springs. If any of you know of someone wanting to get rid of one, please let me know!

Wooo Pig Sooie & Wreck 'Em Red Raiders!

I grew up in West Texas and my grandparents, aunt and uncle, and several of my cousins live in Lubbock and a lot of them went to Texas Tech. So growing up, my love for college football came from watching the Red Raiders. Obviously now that I am an Arkansan, the Hogs have the #1 spot in my heart but I still root for Texas Tech. I have my day planned out to support both the Hogs and the Red Raiders.
I will listen to the Hogs play Mississippi St. this afternoon and call the Hogs with pride. Hopefully the Hogs will have a good day and can build up some confidence for the game next week!

And tonight, I will have my guns up and will watch Graham Harrell and the Red Raiders take on the Sooners. This game is huge for Tech's chances of going to the National Championship so I'm really excited about it!
I love days filled with great college football!!!!

More Wedding Fun!

This past weekend, I was in my hometown for one of my college roommate's wedding. I didn't get to Abilene until later Friday night, and I still wasn't feeling 100% so I didn't make it to the rehearsal or dinner. But the nice thing about the wedding being in Abilene was that I was able to stay with my mom. It was great to able to just relax and be taken care of! The first wedding event that I attended was a Bridal Luncheon on Saturday.

The woman that hosted the luncheon did a fabulous job! She had place settings of different china for each of us. She explained that each different setting had been given to members of her family at their weddings going all the way back to her great-great grandparents. It was so neat! This is me and Laresa (the bride) leaving to get ready for the wedding!

The beautiful bride getting ready for the big moment! She looked sooooo pretty!!!

This is me and Ashlee hanging out in the bride's room. We all went to college together, so it was a fun little reunion getting to hang out!Me, Laresa, and Julie were roommates. We spent many years together praying for this day! Everything went so well and was a really sweet wedding. Laresa's now husband Jeremy is a very talented musician. He played the guitar and sang the Shane and Shane song "Yearn" as the call to worship. It was such a great way to get things started!

Here are a few pictures from the reception:

And last but not least.....

Mr. and Mrs. Roemisch

I am so glad that I was able to make it to the wedding. Thank you all so much for your prayers!!! I am worn out from the weekend, but I finally feel like I will be completely well someday soon!

Update & Funny Costumes

This past week has definitely been a trying one. I didn't see much improvement with the shingles and by Thursday I couldn't swallow because my throat was swelling. I was at my emotional limit with being sick, but Friday had to make another trip to the doctor's office. After several hours and blood tests later, he decided that it is a combination of my body getting tired of fighting the shingles and an allergic reaction to some of the medicine I was on. The bad thing is that there is nothing he can do to fix it because it could make the shingles worse and they are actually finally starting to heal. So, he sent me home with strict orders for resting and a liquid diet for a week. Did I mention I was at my emotional limit?!?!?! I decided to stop by Bizys to get some soup for my new diet and was cheered up in a hurry!

Ha!!!! I didn't even recognize my dad when I first walked in! I couldn't laugh out loud, because I couldn't even talk but I was cracking up on the inside!!!! It was definitely the highlight of my week! I have high hopes for this coming week. I have followed doctors orders and haven't left my apartment or had solid food since Friday afternoon. While this is pretty depressing when you live by yourself and the Hogs won in the last home game of the season, I do think I feel a little bit better today. It still hurts when I swallow or talk, but I can do both a lot easier than before and the shingles are much better. I actually slept all through the night last night without waking up in pain. That's the first time that has happened in weeks, so I'm pretty pumped! Since I'm supposed to fly to Texas on Friday to be in the wedding, I'm praying that each day gets better!!!
