42

Last night, I went to my grandparents house and played 42 (dominoes) with my grandpa, aunt, and step-mom. My family loves this game! When we get together to play, we end up staying for hours! It's a lot of fun and a great way to spend time with the fam. You can go to this site if you want to see how the game came about and is played. It was actually started in Texas by Baptists!

Before we could get down to the business of the game, we had to move my grandpa's puzzle out of the way. But, we sort of got distracted and started putting some pieces together!

Once the puzzle was moved, we were ready to go! My grandpa was seriously contemplating which dominoes he was going to pick. It really is just the luck of the draw!

My aunt and I were partners and since we haven't been playing as long as the others, we got beat. But we make a pretty good team and have fun no matter what! Towards the end of the night, we actually tied things up.

It helped having a few good hands like this one!

All in all, it was a great night! I know that there will come a day when I look back on times spent with my grandparents and cherish the memories!

It's the Super Bowl Y'all!

I am really sad because yesterday I realized that an ensemble that I sing with is singing this Sunday night...Super Bowl Sunday night! I probably shouldn't admit that I'm sad that I have to be at church instead of a party, but I am. My Sunday School class has a party every year where one of our teachers cooks ribs and there are more appetizers, side dishes, and desserts than should be allowed. We are so Baptist! To add insult to injury, I got an email from http://www.pauladeen.com/ that included this recipe.

It sounds so easy to make and you know it will be good coming from Paula!

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that my schedule conflict is divine intervention! I would definitely be cheating on my diet if I went to the party!

A Bizy night

My dad and step-mom have been the owners of Bizys Neighborhood Grill since March 2007. I know that I am biased, but I think it has the best food in Fayetteville! Thursday nights are one of the busiest during the week because our special is fajitas and margaritas. Well, earlier today my dad got sick. So sick, that he called me at work and asked me to pick him up because he couldn't drive himself home. Not good! So when I got off work, I went to Bizys to help out in his place. I actually love working there!

This is my step-mom Cozelle, me, and my aunt Annetta taking a break for a photo! I am not an official Bizys employee. I pretty much just work for food and the t-shirt!

Once things slowed down towards closing time, Annetta and I decided to split an order of chicken fajitas. We also had some chips, salsa and tamale queso. Yummm!!!! This picture really doesn't do it justice because I didn't think about taking a picture of our feast until we had already eaten half of it. Now I am so full and worn out. It's amazing how tiring cleaning tables, carrying out food, and mixing drinks can be!

My Debut

Thanks to some wonderful friends, I recently became a blog reader. I just hadn't taken the plunge and created a blog of my own until now. For better or worse, I may never be the same! Ha!
